Wow no rain, no rain for nearly two weeks, truly wonderful although there are still remnants of the months of rain still obvious in the fields. The alpacas look great as their fleeces have properly dried out. Two of the weanling boys are leaving us for a herd in Cornwall so Geoff, the vet, was round on Tuesday to take bloods for the Enferplex bovine tuberculosis test. We’ll get the results in a couple of weeks and if, as expected, they are clear, off they will go.

We spent the weekend clearing out a corner of the yard where stuff has been dumped for a good ten years. Back breaking work but there were plenty of good things to be salvaged. Guttering, water and drainage pipe, paving slabs, old clay roof tiles and planks of wood. So many brambles and a pretty big hazel tree too, rather a lot of tyres to be recycled and an excellent bonfire heap of rotten wood.
