Here’s my shawl that I designed for simplycrochetmag using ukalpaca yarn. You can find the pattern in the latest edition of the magazine. It uses a fun block stitch, the rows increase on one side to create a triangle and it is beginner friendly!

I've been learning about alpacas...this is Suri, which has a long (as opposed to crimped) fleece. Suri make up just 5% of the world's alpaca population. It feels like silk and may be another one I can't sell just yet...❤️ however it will be at the antallasolais makers' market on Saturday in Ullapool to be admired ukalpaca #UKAlpacaInspiration #surialpaca

Introducing the Wild Sea Hat! 🌬️ 🌊

Born out of my love for clean lines and Half Fisherman’s Rib, this hat is knitted with a double folded Stockinette stitch brim and a Half Fisherman’s Rib crown. The hat is ending a few cm above your head’s tallest point for a modern, laid-back look.

The pattern will be available in two gauges: the Breeze Edition is knitted in DK weight yarn and the Gale Edition is knitted in super chunky yarn. Both gauges will be available within one pattern. (The images show the Breeze Edition)

I know not everyone enjoys knitting on 2mm needles (for the Half Fisherman’s Rib) so I decided to make a chunkier version for those who prefer larger needle knits. ☺️

I’m hoping to get the tester call out next week but no promises since we have a busy week ahead at home!

I love the rhythm of simple garter stitch.

I wear my #pippushawl by ambahobrien all the time, it is just the perfect size and shape for me so I thought it was time for another although I have substituted the mohair to just work with these 2 alpaca 4 ply yarns from ukalpaca that I got from unravelfestival last weekend.

I can't describe how soft they are and will have such a beautiful drape when blocked, excited to get to the lace section 🍑

This is the second #pippushawl by ambahobrien I have made, the original is a firm fave and I think this one will be too when the summer is over. Highly recommend this pattern the lace is super simple and the mindless garter is 👌🏻 super wearable shape too 😊

I knitted it using ukalpaca superfine alpaca 4ply in parchment and coral. This yarn is beautiful and has such a lovely drape.
