The Knit+ Stitch Show at Alexandra Palace in London was an exhausting but successful marathon. We reckon we sold at least eighty kilos of alpaca knitting yarn running out of several of the most popular colours even though I had taken far more spare yarn than normal. The trouble is you can never be sure which pattern in which colour is going to be popular, educated guesswork really.

Top of the pops was Tracy Birch’s Quito jacket in French navy DK followed by Jemima Bicknell’s Hayworth sweater, also in French navy DK. Sasha Kagan’s Poppy short cardigan has been in our pattern inventory for many years and the knitters still love it.
Tracy’s new pattern Gypsy Rose did well. She’s been working hard and a very stylish waistcoat in our 4-ply speckledy range is with the technical editor, has a photoshoot next week and will be launching shortly.
Just when we thought a rest might be in order, 20 boxes of yarn arrived from the finishers and we have to find a home for it in a rather overcrowded Yarnia. Hey ho!
