It seems a long time ago now, but in May, we were the hosts for a Simply Crochet photoshoot. Just about all the animals on farm had a starring role, notably our new stud male Macchiato, the most chilled out alpaca I have ever met. He was completely unfazed by the model, Albina, throwing her arms around him and stood stock still without her even holding the lead rope. What a star.

There is always a lot of hanging around and here are two females wondering what on earth is going on and three males waiting for their moment

The orphan lambs got a look in and of course Alice, our small and yappy cavapoo managed to photobomb the shots in the hay barn.

Everything had to be pulled forward as the people at Simply Crochet were not au fait with the shearing timetable we all have for our alpacas. The dreaded date of May 17 when they would all be transformed from gorgeous fluffballs to lean and mean loomed large. Even more worrying would it rain?

The kitchen/dining room was transformed into photoshoot HQ with hair and make-up hard at work, wow those make-up cases are huge, a clothes rail, steam thingy and of course tea, coffee and lunch.

The photographer was having a great time as normally he works in a basement studio but here he was in the Devon countryside surrounded by the best-looking farmed animals, alpacas.
