At last, finally thawed out after a very chilly Yarndale. The shock of a two degree morning after a relatively balmy Devon made me very thankful for my many thermal layers. Best of all I had my hat, I call it Karen, as a fellow alpaca breeder Karen Oglesby gave it to me. This was after a freezing alpaca halter show last winter when she was warm and the rest of us shivering.

The journey up to Yorkshire was a bit painful with parts of the M5 flooded and the SatNav taking us on an interesting and ultimately successful route through the backwoods of Avon and Gloucestershire. We got back on the motorway just before the Gloucester services, hurrah, proper tea and a croissant. Bit of a cock up as when we arrived at Skipton Auction Mart we discovered we had forgotten the office containing all the signage, pens, notebook, scissors, cable ties, calculator, leaflets. Panic trip to a supermarket and an evening for me trying to write neat signs.

It didn’t rain all weekend but coming home we found ourselves driving through torrential rain for hours. As we pulled in past midnight, the cat appeared to say hello.

Back home to glorious sunshine and a bit of alpaca work to catch up on, namely giving the last of the cria, a feisty little lot, their eight week jabs.

At some point it dawned on us that we are at Alexandra Palace for the Knitting and Stitching Show NEXT WEEK. No more slacking!
