That’s enough holiday for a while. It is back to work with a celebration of one of our favourite designers and trusty technical editor Jemima Bicknell. No pattern is complete in our eyes until it has been put through the mill by Jemima and then we can sleep easy.

Jemima is a knitting and crochet designer, specializing in vintage-inspired designs. Her career in the knitting business began in the London-based knitting shop Loop. Being surrounded by beautiful yarn and talented knitters fuelled her passion and encouraged her to build a career out of this simple but magical craft.

You might want to take a look at her book Art Deco Knits which celebrates the jazz age of the 1920’s and 1930’s, it was a particularly exciting period in fashion design.

The Beaded Mitts

These fingerless beaded mitts are stylish in all seasons. A delicate cable pattern that never goes out of fashion and the silver-lined beads add that extra sparkle.

Beaded Cowl

Another favourite to match the mitts. It features the same design as the mitts with slightly bigger beads. The cowl is knitted in the round, with no sewing up at the end, just two ends to weave in.

Beaded Slouch Beanie

The final part of this beautiful trio is the slouch beanie. This hat has the same delicate pattern as the cowl and mitts. A timeless knit that you will wear all year round.
