Alpaca Yarns, Socks, Patterns & Gifts from UK Alpaca
UK Alpaca is proud to offer you alpaca yarn made from the fleeces of alpacas farmed in Britain and Ireland. One of the noble fibres, alpaca is softer, more luxurious, stronger and more resilient than the finest sheep wool.
UK Alpaca is a family business run by Chas Brooke and Rachel Hebditch from our farm in Devon. We have 100 pedigree alpacas on farm and buy fleece clips from over 120 other alpaca farms in the UK. The fleece is hand graded and classed by us on our farm before being sent for processing to our yarn specifications in and around the Yorkshire Area.
Our high quality, luxury alpaca tops are blended with a little silk or wool and spun fully worsted to create luxurious dyed and natural yarns with British provenance.

I was given The Merry Faeries as a gift (thanks Hannah and Tim), love it! The wool is gorgeous to knit and I am delighted with the result. Very much suspect I will be buying more kits as gifts.
I Just Wanted To Say…
I just wanted to say how much I love your wool, it is wonderful for me to find such lovely yarn with your ethical and environmental credentials.
Love The Wool
I love the wool – amazing to knit with. I’ll send a photo once I’ve finished the garment.
In love with this alpaca yarn!
I’m not a very competent knitter but with the help of a you-tube video to get me started, I am knitting a cowl in the raspberry/strawberry shade following one of your patterns. (Wish I’d realised it is available as one of your knitting tins so I would have a lovely tin too!)
I find that sheep’s wool makes my skin itch but Alpaca or silk yarns do not.
I am so in love with this alpaca/silk yarn. It is just so soft (and surprisingly strong) that the yarn feels lovely while I’m knitting without any of that prickly feeling you get from knitting wool and feels just wonderful against your neck.
I will most definitely be buying more and never knit with sheep’s wool again!
V-Neck Shawl Teal
I bought the Teak Kit as a Christmas present for a relative who loves all things alpaca (and who also has sensitive skin, so this gift is perfect). The package arrived promptly, and I am also very grateful for the excellent customer service I received. Many thanks.
Love these Sox and my other half does too!
Easy to handle and drapes beautifully
I am happily knitting my way through one skein of each in a simple garter stitch shawl and it is a truly lovely experience! SO soft and silky, the yarn is easy to handle and drapes beautifully, it is very mindful. Lots of ‘bounce’ and It also smells gorgeous!
I discovered your website looking for a lovely yarn to make a baby blanket for my daughter’s baby, well before he was born. I bought the blanket pattern knitted from the corner in garter stitch with baby alpaca and silk yarn. I loved knitting it and it felt wonderful in my hands. When my son and his wife were also expecting a new baby I made another.
Normally a (contemporary) quilter/textile artist, during Covid lock-down I became a knitting granny. Now I’m starting on Christmas presents for adults.
I have also enjoyed reading about the passing of the year on your farm and seeing the baby crias appearing.
A big thank you to you all.
Thank you. Again my alpaca arrived next day. The only way to get it quicker would be to own my own animal! Much appreciated.
I bought this as the crochet cowl kit. It’s beautiful to work with, very pretty pattern, lovely and soft and it took 2hrs to make!!!! Absolutely delighted.
Touch. Squish. Smell.
