Shade Seekers

Alpacas are the world’s best shade seekers. There is a breeze and it is cool under the hedges where they hang out during the day. If I need to cool down I join them.

Birthing is under way now with six cria on the ground, the heaviest 11 kilos and the lightest a titchy 5.7 kilos although that one has put on weight rapidly and is now 7.5 kilos.

Fleece grading is on a hot weather pause as the barn is horribly stuffy. All our fans are going in the office and we are getting through many bottles of cold water, thank goodness we have a fridge in here. Fingers crossed that a thunderstorm comes our way tonight.
